If this is a clear demonstration that companies either do not understand the rules or that they are just to grey for them to risk continuing to use contractors.The majority of users in the UK that use contractors paniced, and took away the contractors right to genuinely continue contracting.
Contractors should seriously consider if they are going to continue to work with companies that acted in this way when the heat was on. The ones that clearly decided to think of number one and took the right away from contractors to contract should be avoided especially the ones that forced the option of Umbrella showing no commitment towards the extra costs that this would inherited by the contractor.
You all now have 12 months to reassess the information that was provided to you which clearly showed the companies attitude and behaviour towards you as a contractor. If the company was demonstrating that they were clearly on your side and willing to continue using contractors, then work with them. If they dropped you like a hot potato then you have to decide if you are willing to continue to provide them with your skills.
