Genius Money are recruiting for an Tax Administrator to join our team in Portsmouth.
Genius Money work with contractors and businesses to provide smarter, compliant models enabling them to payroll their sub-contractors without risk from HMRC investigation. We work on behalf of clients within the construction industry offering a variety of employment solutions such as, compliance protection, labour tracking software, payroll and recruitment.

Role type: Permanent
Hours: 8.00am-17:30pm Monday to Friday
Salary: £25K
The role
The tax administrator will take ownership of the administrative work of the department, and support the Tax process. Ensuring all correspondence is dealt with in a timely manner, client records are kept up to date, and tasks for the contractors are completed, and on time.
Day to day duties
- Expenses & Forms processing
- Engagement letters
- HMRC paper and online forms
- Scanning documents and post into the filing system and sending to the tax team client maintenance and data entry.
- Oversight of client authorisations with HMRC, and associated entry onto databases.
- Chasing clients for information.
- Email correspondence, internally and externally
- Oversee Tax Inbox
- Data entry on Excel, maintaining and updating schedules.
- Chaser telephone calls to HMRC
- Completion of both complex personal tax returns
- Preparation of corporation tax computations and deferred tax computations
- Provide tax planning advice to Sole Traders, Partnerships, Limited Companies and HNWI’s
- Liaising with HMRC and assisting with complex investigations and challenges
- Monitor the department’s portfolio to ensure deadlines are met, including liaising with senior management to regularly communicate progress of work
- Ensure the department’s work trackers are monitored and kept up to date
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience within a similar position.
- IT literacy - Microsoft Office
- Experience within a similar position dealing with high volumes of work and providing a high level professional service.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Technology savvy and with experience of using databases.
- Strong attention to detail.
- A proactive attitude and ability to hit the ground running.
